 Summary
Gunfire from a semi-automatic weapon at close to point-blank range miraculously missed an Iowa man, whose brush with death has apparently affected his behavior.

 Details  Print
Jordan P. Knox, a student living in Iowa City, IA, was accosted by an armed gang on the night of the May 8th. One of the crooks fired a machine pistol at Mr. Knox, but he was unharmed. The owner of the firearm, Jas Fleet, was arrested for attempted murder, but upon further investigation the police found that the bullets in the weapon (an Ingram MAC-10 submachine gun) were blanks. It was concluded that the incident was part of an elaborate confidence scam. What is more interesting is that his near-death experience has changed his behavior: since the incident he apparently now believes himself to be invulnerable to all harm, and has put himself at risk on multiple occasions.
