Cattle Die-off in rural Spain
 Document #63  Status: Debated
 Class: Location: Europe, Year: 2003

 Summary
Massive cattle die-offs have been reported by several ranchers

 Details  Print
I have received email from a veterinarian in Spain stating that entire herds of cattle are dying off for unexplained reasons.  His colleagues have posited that the deaths may be due to a previously unrecognized strain of bluetongue disease, though others believe that the herds may have been exposed to environmental anthrax found naturally in the soil.
