 Details  Print

On October 16, 2003, several visitors to Caribou National Forest reported trouble with their vision. Those affected were unable to distinguish the color red, yet all other colors appeared normal.  The effect was felt in a small area of the park, just east of Pocatello, ID.  When visitors left that area, vision returned to normal.  While the cause has not yet been determined, officials have been unable to duplicate the effect making further investigation difficult.  When questioned, one official expressed his belief that it was a drug induced incident by “those unruly hippies”.
