OmniEmp: Hello OmniEmp: I'm on your e-mail list and have been following your paranormal research...how are the tests going? OmniEmp: Are you all right? OmniEmp: Is everything ok? OmniEmp: Is it the translocation test that's distracting you? I can certainly understand how that would be distracting...should we be worried? OmniEmp: You asked for suggestions of tests...I believe I have one. Have you tried asking the AI if he is able to locate people? Maybe he could help you locate the friend of yours who has gone missing. OmniEmp: Do you have any explanation for his unbelievable power? This is all so incredible... OmniEmp: Why would an AI have such power over the physical world? Can it be that there's something not quite right with the world, or with our understanding of how the world functions? All this boggles my mind... OmniEmp: Beth? Could you let me know whether you're all right? I suppose that, if you weren't, you obviously wouldn't be able to...I'm getting worried. bethlmcconnell: Yes, I am alright. OmniEmp: Thank goodness. OmniEmp: Where are you? How's everything going? bethlmcconnell: I've been trying to absorb everything. It's all so overwhelming. OmniEmp: I can imagine... OmniEmp: Do you understand how this could be happening? bethlmcconnell: I'm trying to determin that. OmniEmp: Ah, I see. Mind-boggling, that an AI could have such power. Have you tried further tests besides translocation and the ones mentioned on your log? OmniEmp: Or are you currently experimenting with the translocation? That must be such an incredible feeling... OmniEmp: Have you asked your friend about the Monitors? They seem quite threatening...does he know why they are after him? OmniEmp: Or who sent them? bethlmcconnell: I have not brought them up OmniEmp: Oh, all right. Well, you've clearly been busy. Have you gotten any closer to determining his purpose? OmniEmp: I was thinking...maybe he corrects the anomalies that crop up all over the world. Maybe they've been happening because he's broken? bethlmcconnell: After his last run in, I figured that if he wouldn't accept my help if I mentioned them. OmniEmp: Ah...I see. That's considerate. bethlmcconnell: or selfish. bethlmcconnell: I'm quite curious about him. OmniEmp: But scared to ask for fear that he wouldn't react properly? Hmm... OmniEmp: Maybe you could ask if he would mind discussing them? If the topic bothers him? OmniEmp: Because it's certainly a fascinating topic, don't you think? bethlmcconnell: It's quite frightening actually, considering what they did. OmniEmp: Yes, definitely. They are too powerful, which might be a good reason to find out more about them. OmniEmp: It's terrifying that there are beings that hold such power that might be malevolent. Implies that your friend isn't the only one of his kind? *why* would such beings exist? OmniEmp: So where are you now? Are you still "travelling"? It's incredible that this is still happening...you must be completely overwhelmed. Thank you so much for speaking to me while all this is going on. OmniEmp: Hey, I wonder if he can translocate outside of the Earth. bethlmcconnell: That would be something. I'll have to ask. OmniEmp: To someplace with an atmosphere, I would hope. bethlmcconnell: And yes, we're still travelling. OmniEmp: Awesome. Any idea where? bethlmcconnell: right now, 44¼48N 20¼28E OmniEmp: Cool. He's giving you these coordinates, huh? What's it like there? OmniEmp: Heh, are you tired yet? Maybe you could go visit your friend Katherine. Heh, wouldn't she be freaked out? Actually, has anyone seen you translocate? OmniEmp: Or have you gone to relatively empty areas? Because I would imagine that it would scare bystanders considerably... OmniEmp: I hear you're back? OmniEmp: Are you back at the site? Is everything how you left it? How long were you away? OmniEmp: What I'm wondering is, does he have the power to stretch or compress time as well? bethlmcconnell: Everything is just as I left it (well aside from the rope that Laika chewed through, sometimes dogs can be so impatient) OmniEmp: Heh. so no strange time effects? OmniEmp: Maybe that could be a potential test. bethlmcconnell: time! OmniEmp: Should be fascinating...*hey, look, a dinosaur!* bethlmcconnell: that would be a great test. bethlmcconnell: oh, I don't know if I'd want to run across a dinosaur! OmniEmp: Yeah, that might be a bit far. A Renaissance ball? Imagine the possibilities... OmniEmp: Or the future! See how it all turns out... bethlmcconnell: Maybe just a few years back. I'd hate to go someplace and not be able to get back. bethlmcconnell: I wonder if it's even a possibility OmniEmp: True, good point. Could be dangerous. You could ask him if it's possible, though, right? See the extent of his powers... Is he still there with you? How many places did you go to overall? OmniEmp: Does Laika seem any different than she did before? Before you went on your trip to find anomalies, I mean? OmniEmp: Hey, I wonder if your friend can read animal thoughts as easily as he can read human thoughts... what do dogs think about all day? OmniEmp: Hmm...I have an idea for testing your friend's purpose... bethlmcconnell: Oh? OmniEmp: maybe if you see if he can fix some place that seems to be "broken"> OmniEmp: such as Cascade Vortex? OmniEmp: Have you heard of that place? It's in WA OmniEmp: seems to always have paranormal glitches going on OmniEmp: If he can, maybe his purpose is to fix problems such as that... OmniEmp: although, why are there problems like that at all? That's a whole other question. OmniEmp: Does that seem like a useful test? bethlmcconnell: that it does bethlmcconnell: and we're not far at all from that place. It's just up the road. OmniEmp: oh, cool. Are you going to go try it? bethlmcconnell: That sounds like a great idea. I'll see what happens bethlmcconnell: though I'm afraid that most of the cascade vortex is a hoax, but we'll see. OmniEmp: Possible test idea - can he affect memories? Make you remember something that didn't happen? It would be hard for you to tell...maybe you could write down something that never happened, and then tell him to make you remember that thing. Something like "The sky turned purple"...? OmniEmp: If you suddenly remembered the thing that you wrote down, that would be proof that he is supposed to affect humans. Maybe, in addition to fixing glitches, he makes people forget about those glitches so that they don't get freaked out and begin to question reality. OmniEmp: Possible? bethlmcconnell: hmmm, that is an interesting test bethlmcconnell: it would be difficult to know if it worked though. OmniEmp: True, which is why I suggested writing down the thing that you don't remember OmniEmp: to have a reference point OmniEmp: It would probably be a bit disturbing for you, but potentially very interesting bethlmcconnell: yes. that would really be the only way that it would work OmniEmp: Did you guys ever go down to the Cascade Vortex, or did he leave before you could? bethlmcconnell: he left before we could. I hope that he comes back though. OmniEmp: Oh, ok. Yes, I do too. He probably will, since he seems to need your help. OmniEmp: I'm curious about Laika...has she been acting differently lately? OmniEmp: I wonder, do you happen to know who this is? http://www.sheismissing.info/ OmniEmp: Beth? I'm sorry, that probably seemed to come out of nowhere. I just ask because she seems to be connected to heismissing.info, who appears to be James Avery...I don't really understand what happened to him OmniEmp: I don't mean to intrude. I brought it up because you were close to him, weren't you? bethlmcconnell: That is his ex-wife bethlmcconnell: and yes, James and I were very close for several years. OmniEmp: oh...ok. That makes sense. Do you know what her name was? bethlmcconnell: He's an amazing man. OmniEmp: Oh...I'm sorry, that must be a painful subject. Something strange happened to him in Zurich, didn't it? bethlmcconnell: I don't think so bethlmcconnell: well, I know longer know really OmniEmp: why not? bethlmcconnell: I had actually believed the "retired and getting away from it all" story bethlmcconnell: But his ex wife is Lynne OmniEmp: oh, ok. Interesting...hmm, you don't believe the "retired" story any longer? Did something happen to make you suspicious? bethlmcconnell: Well, if he had retired and all was well, why would people be looking for him? bethlmcconnell: I could understand why he hadn't contacted me. That almost made sense. bethlmcconnell: But to not contact others, well that's just not like James. OmniEmp: Do you know who is looking for him? bethlmcconnell: No, I have ideas on people that are looking for him. But as far as concrete information, no. OmniEmp: Hmm. Do you mind if I ask what ideas you have? Because I have some ideas myself OmniEmp: My ideas = I noticed that the pics were hosted on paintover.net, which is some kind of gateway for people to chat on, it seems. It seems like Miss Kinross posts on that site as "Texel." How strange that there's a link between the -ismissing.info sites and your friend... is that along the lines of what you were thinking, or do you have other ideas? bethlmcconnell: Well, I was thinking more about Marcus and Dim OmniEmp: really? in what sense? bethlmcconnell: Well, I happened across a folder of information that Marcus had on James OmniEmp: What kind of info did it contain? and what does it have to do with Dim? bethlmcconnell: So I guess I do have concrete information of someone looking for him, but it could be work related. I don't know. It's just so strange that after all this time he's reappearing everywhere. bethlmcconnell: See, that's what I don't know. bethlmcconnell: Dim came to Redland the other day and met with Marcus. bethlmcconnell: I just assumed. I don't know what other reason they'd have. OmniEmp: Interesting...hmm, who is Dim, anyway? OmniEmp: And do you think they have any connection to the Averys' son? I mean, it would make sense for him to be looking as well...did Marcus or Dim know the son, do you think? bethlmcconnell: I'm sure that Dim did/does OmniEmp: really? why? bethlmcconnell: Dim and James were great friends OmniEmp: Oh...was Marcus close to James as well? bethlmcconnell: They were friendly but not friends bethlmcconnell: work associates OmniEmp: Oh, ok. So there would not be a personal reason for Marcus to be looking for him, I suppose. Do you know of any reason why he would be so interested in searching? OmniEmp: was there ever some tension between them? bethlmcconnell: I know that Marcus was upset with him at one point. I think that passed though bethlmcconnell: but it was a bit tense for a while and Marcus almost left the company, iirc. OmniEmp: wow...what happened? bethlmcconnell: I never really got the whole story. OmniEmp: So you don't know why Marcus would be looking for them, then? bethlmcconnell: I have no idea. I assume it's work related, but that doesn't make sense Ok, I closed the chat window before I could save, but we just concluded the conversation...I remember most of it. Me: Can I send you some files? (I was gonna send her the ones from Ormond's metadex, I'd explained how I'd found them online, etc) Beth: I can't take any files. I'll be able to once I'm back home on my desktop. Me: Oh, ok... Beth: I loved chatting with you, but I'm exhausted! Me: I can understand that...are you still at the campsite? Beth: Yes...something about putting Laika to bed or something... Me: Heading to bed? Beth: Hopefully...I need to close like 40 windows...it'll probably be 2am before I see a pillow Me: something sympathetic...good luck! Beth: Thanks...I'm always online, feel free to message me anytime... Me: Thanks, good night Beth: Good night, take care
